Oceanside
This home sits on the California coastline just north of San Francisco with sweeping views of Stinson Beach. Due to code restrictions imposed by FEMA, the main part of the house was required to be elevated off the sand to reduce the risk of storm or tsunami damage. A simple floor plan with a central hallway flanked by bedrooms leads to the main part of the house which opens to the expanse of the Pacific. Rustic cedar planking clads the house echoing the natural tones of the beach. The front and rear facades lyrically mimic the shape of a wave.
